The journal Chebyshevskii Sbornik was founded by the decision of the IVth international conference ‘Contemporary issues of the number theory and its applications’ in 2001. Since 2001, it has been published in Tula State Pedagogical University. The decision on the founding of the journal was signed by representatives of Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS), Lomonosov Moscow State University (MSU), Steklov Institute of Mathematics, Moscow State Pedagogical University, Tula State Pedagogical University, Tula State University and the Chebyshev Fund.
In 2011, the journal was registered as a mass medium.
In 2015, the journal was included in the Higher Attestation Commission list ‘Peer-reviewed scientific publications included in the list of peer-reviewed scientific publications where the main results of theses for the degree of candidate of science and for the degree of Doctor of Science should be published’.
For 2001-2016, 17 volumes of 60 issues with more than 700 articles have been released. Both the Russian authors and foreign authors have published in the journal.
The journal Chebyshevskii Sbornik has been published using funding of the grants of the Russian Foundation for Basic Research (RFBR): 00-01-00767, 00-01-10116, 02-01-00584, 03-01-00198, 03-01-10037, 03-01-96382, 04-01-10055, 05-01-00672, 08-01-00790, 10-01-06027, 11-01-00571, 11-01-06061, 11-01-06092, 13-02-06134, 14-01-06005.
Currently, the journal Chebyshevskii Sbornik is a reviewed scientific and theoretical journal in which the leading scholars’ main results on modern mathematics as well as on some fields of physics, and information science are published. The journal has respectable editorial board including both Russian and foreign world-class scholars. Since the journal foundation, its all-time editor-in-chief has been Doctor of Physics and Mathematics, Professor V.N. Chubarikov.

Arkhipov Gennadiy Ivanovich (editorial board member from 2001 to 2013) was Doctor of Physics and Mathematics, Professor, professor of the Chair of Mathematical Analysis, Department of Mechanics and Mathematics, Moscow State University.
Mit'kin Dmitriy Alekseyevich (editorial board member from 2001 to 2007) was Doctor of Physics and Mathematics, Professor, Head of the Chair of Number Theory, Moscow State Pedagogical University.
Pikhtil'kov Sergey Alekseyevich (executive secretary from 2001 to 2015) was Doctor of Physics and Mathematics, Professor, professor of Orenburg State University.
Shmel'kin Al'fred L'vovich (editorial board member from 2001 to 2015) was Doctor of Physics and Mathematics, Professor of the Chair of Higher Algebra, Department of Mechanics and Mathematics, Moscow State University; Professor emeritus of Moscow State University.
The journal is indexed in electronic data bases MathSciNet of the American Mathematical society and Zentralblatt MATH of Springer publisher, Russian Science Citation Index (RSCI) (Web of Science’s Russian collection), is reviewed by RJ Matematika (Russia, VINITI), Mathematical Reviews (USA, American Mathematical Society).
